Fimmar BV brief background

Roel Molenaar fulfilled various financial management positions, mainly in the transport and logistics sectors, before joining United Transport Tank Containers (UTT) in 1990, with positions at Seatrain, Trans Freight Lines and P&OCL. In each roll he had responsibility for a number of accounting and controlling staff.

He then left the logistics sector, being headhunted by FHV-BBDO the then largest advertising agency in the Netherlands. Roel was recruited by FHV-BBDO as trouble shooter with a mandate to set up a completely new and integrated finance department with clear internal and external reporting.

Roel joined UTT’s predecessor, a subsidiary of BET Plc and later of Rentokil Initial Plc, in 1990 as finance director where he again was tasked with developing and implementing a completely new financial administration and controlling operation for all companies in the UTT Group.

In addition to this, Roel was a main board member with responsibility for mergers and acquisitions as well as all external contacts with professional advisers, banks and insurers. He has several Dutch financial and business qualifications.

Through his various jobs as Board member Roel has gained broad management and strong international experience. His roots are in finance and ICT, with a strong feeling for the commercial, operations and human aspects of organisations. He is a positive thinking natural leader, determined to meet the set goals, to get the best out of a business. Able to maintain, and if required, restore confidence in the company both internally and externally (advisors, PE houses, banks, suppliers, customers)

His broad experience enables Roel to analyse a business quickly, identify the strategic/operational problems and translate them into clear action plans with clear goals. To achieve these goals Roel works closely with the organisation to execute the mutually agreed plans.
