Jane Smith, background

Jane Smith is a UK CIMA qualified accountant who has worked in both the manufacturing and service industries. She began her working career at British Steel Teesside division. later moving from steel manufacture to steel stockholding at Quality Assured Steel Services. Subsequently, having moved from Leeds to Sheffield she took a post at Sheffield City Council.

Following the birth of twins Jane took time out to be a full-time mother. After a few years Jane gradually eased her way back into work by taking various flexible interim positions. Notably at Butterball Foods where she implemented a Standard Costing System and BFL Ltd where following an initial interim posting she was called back to assist in the conversion from a manual to a computer based accounting system.

In 1990 Jane joined UTT on a three week posting that lasted until 2008. It was here that Jane and Roel began their successful working partnership that continues today. Jane as Group Finance Director assisted Roel in all the merger and aquisition activities that happened from 1990 onwards. Through her various roles Jane has gained invaluable experience in working in large, small, international, domestic and government run companies. Her ability to advise, encourage and guide others to adapt when facing new challenges is now finely tuned. This combined with her drive and positive thinking and ability to get results has led to successful implementation of many projects and general improvement in day to day working practises that in turn brought benefit to the companies for which she worked.
